Observation Narrative
Habitat is a dryish, lower slope supporting a diverse, open, even-aged white oak-dominated forest. Geologic substrate is probably Milboro shale. Basal scars on oaks and dense shrubby oak regeneration suggest fairly recent disturbance by fire. The vegetation is notably species rich (n = 82) and contains a diversity of herbs characteristic of submesic to subxeric soils.
