Observation Narrative
Oak - Pine forest adjacent to a freshwater marsh. Medium-diameter (50-70 cm) Pinus taeda dominate the canopy and species such as Gelsemium sempervirens, Myrica cerifera var. cerifera, and Persea palustris give this stand a decidedly maritime flavor. Although it appeared dry on the survey date, this site would probably be classified as a seasonally saturated wetland based on soil characteristics, and to some extent vegetation.
