Observation Narrative
Forested wetland in headwaters drainage between two frequently burned pine uplands. The wetland is about 100 meters wide and has hummock and hollow topography throughout. Nyssa biflora up to 90 cm DBH dominates the overstory and the evergreen species Magnolia virginiana and Ilex opaca are common as small trees and shrubs. Clethra alnifolia, Vaccinium formosum, and V. fuscatum are common shrubs. Herbaceous plants are rather sparse.
