Observation Narrative ? This plot captures a Nyssa biflora pond with no herb cover except around the pond margins; the ground is dominated by leaf litter. The plot includes a small portion of the vegetated margin. Recent water marks on the trees are at 30-35 cm above the ground surface. Vaccinium formosum thickets are sprouting from old pine stumps that are moss covered. This open woodland is dominated by stunted, small-diameter Nyssa biflora.
