Plot is in the northern part of pond S105-15 (aka Deep Pond) and capture the forested pond rim and a small portion of the open center with Panicum verrucosum. All the Cephalanthus in the pond center is dead. The sample runs more or less perpendicular to Rawinski's 1995 transect but does not intersect it. Water marks on the trees range from 23 cm to 49 cm from the ground. The vegetation of this pond is a mostly dense forest of Nyssa biflora, Liquidambar styraciflua, and Acer rubrum. Understory diversity for this type of habitat is relatively diverse, containing Vaccinium fuscatum, V. formosum, Leucothoe racemosa, Magnolia virginiana, Aronia arbutifolia, Ilex opaca, Amelanchier canadensis, Rhododendron viscosum, and Clethra alnifolia.
