Observation Narrative	This plot is located about 200 m to the east of plot CHWM004, in another of the interlacing flatwoods depressions that runs through this part of the Chickahominy WMA. Vegetation composition of this sample differs slightly in having Quercus michauxii, rather than Q. pagoda, as the chief associate of Q. phellos. Just northwest of the plot is a deeper, more open depression in which several overstory oaks have died. As in plot CHWM004, scrambling and low-climbing Smilax rotundifolia is prevalent, possibly suggesting past disturbance.
