Observation Narrative ? A beautiful, wide interdune swale situated behind the upper beach / eroded foredune zone and a pronounced, higher secondary dune, about 120 meters from the ocean. Very low shrubs (mostly Myrica cerifera) are scattered to locally common in a dense graminoid matrix co-dominated by Spartina patens, Fimbristylis caroliniana, and Andropogon glomeratus var. glomeratus. A small sandy hummock-like inclusion supports a few species of drier dunes.
