Observation Narrative ? An open pond dominated by Panicum rigidulum with short statured Nyssa sylvatica and Diospyros virginiana and shrub thickets of Ilex verticellata. About one-half of the depression is shrub thicket and the other half is an open Panicum rigidulum "meadow". Water marks are on the trees at 30 cm. The forested pond margins flood to 30 cm and have larger diameter Nyssa (40-50 cm). The plot captures a portion of the pond with scattered small trees and a few shrub thickets and a bit of the pond margin.
