Observation Narrative ? A very steep-sided sinkhole pond, covering about 0.8 hectares (aka Deep Pond). The vegetation is strongly zoned, with species zones shifting as the pond draws down and the area surrounding the pond is progressively exposed. The plot is located on rim of the pond and captures the zone that has been exposed for the longest period. Formerly dominant Eleocharis acicularis forms a dense turf beneath taller Panicum rigidulum and P. philadelphicum that have germinated and grown up more recently.
