Across creek is steep slope which may push flood waters to this side. Most of the bottom is patchy-weedy-successional, with sycamore extending upslope from floodplain.;Narrow floodplain along a small perrenial stream. Drainage bottom previously utilized by settlement - but more flooded areas may have more natural vegetation due to flooding disturbance regime. Community is a deciduous forest dominated by sycamore and tulip tree with musclewood in subcanopy. High herb diversity. Community recieves water from uplands and from occasional overbank flooding. Terrace is 1.5 m above creek.
Representativeness
Narrow linear community along creek. Lower stream terrace floodplain forest. Long narrow plot to keep in flood impacted zone and to exclude heavy multiflora rose on upper terrace.
