Down the cove is the Guyandotte campground. The plot is approximately 20m above an unnamed creek. Located farther up the cove from BAIL.13, on the opposite slope.;Cove forest on the opposite slope as BAIL.13,11 and 9, with a southeast aspect. Large mossy rocks are scattered throughout the site. The canopy is largely basswood, yellow buckeye and sugar maple with many paw-paw in the shrub layer. Deer browse is apparent, especially on the jewel-weed that is throughout the site.

Small patch of yellow buckeye and basswood forest with adjacent stands of tuliptree. Plot was placed specifically to sample the yellow buckeye community type.
