Isolate patch of land owned by the Army Corps and managed by the WVDNR. Down the ridge slope ~2km is the gated road we came in on. Between here and there we have 3 plots BAIL.2,3 and 4. Up the ridge spur to the north is the Mingo/Wyoming county line.;Second growth forest dominated by chesnut oak in the T2 and red maple in the T3. There is an abundance of S1 and S2 shrubs. Several of the larger trees have fire scars. There is little if any modern anthropological disturbance. No sawn stumps aor skid trails. There are a few deer trails in the plot.
Representativeness
