Downslope 100 m is reservior. Between plot and reservior is a weedier zone, sometimes inundated w/ sycamore and autumn olive. Searched this slope and similar slope around bend for Guyandotte beauty - none found.;Terraced lower slope of hill in dissected plateau landscape. Site is just uphill from reservior shore. Red soil supports rich-site flora. Canopy is variable and mixed, with sugar maple, chinquapin oak, bitternut hickory, and black cherry. Shrub layer has only non-palatable species, with dominance by paw paw in patches. Herb layer has sparse cover by rich site herbs diminutive in size, indicating heavy deer herbivory. Reservior may concentrate deer along edges.
