There are several similar looking patches found at the same elevation on flats above the Bluestone Turnpike trail. Above the stand the community is a mixture of oaks and pines.;The stand is even aged and evenly spaced. There is a fence line on the up hill end of the patch. An old road runs along the eastern edge of the patch. Seasonal water runoff has created rills in the duff layer. High amount of downed branches. The soils are deep.
Representativeness
This is a small patch community of white pine. It is typical of the Pinus strobus dominated communities surveyed.
