Roughly 50 m below this plot is a large exposed cliff band. On the edge of this cliff is a thin band of Pinus virginiana. This area is very reminiscent of the area at point A072821A.cor. Which is located on a similar aspect and elevation.;Steep slope. The soils are shallow and acidic. The oak and pine trees look similar in age. Several large square boulders are located within the plot. Many of the oaks are gnarled and twisted, bent by the slowly sliding colluvial slope.
Representativeness
Small patch. Dry acidic oak - pine forest. The oak is dominated by Quercus alba and the pine by Pinus strobus. There are only small amounts of hickory found in the T3 and S2. Juniperus virginiana was also found in small amounts in the T3 , S1, and S2 laye
