Noisy highway at base of hill. Greenbottom WMA in bottom across road. Forest downhill becomes rich mixed-mesophytic w/ more beech, basswood and buckeye.;Terraced bluff overlooking broad floodplain. Bluff has cliff lines with steep shale slopes below them, leveling out above another cliff top. Forest is diverse and variable, with high age class diversity, no evidence of logging. Canopy in plot is dominated by red oak, chinquapin oak and ash of some kind. Blue ash is scattered in shrub layers, but canopy trees are probably white ash. Soils are enriched but herb layer is suppressed by deer.
