Remote roadless area with maturing forests. Lots of eastern hemlock, white pine, and successional tuliptree. Limestone is mapped in area but forests are mostly acidic.;Rolling dissected plateau, Low slope above a steep ravine to creek. Community is mostly deciduous forest dominated by medium - large oaks. Shrub and herb layers are impacted by heavy deer browse and are composed of unpalatable species. Tree regeneration is mostly white pine. Abundance of Osmunda may indicate seepage due to lower slope position.
