To north and south this wet swamp opens to hemlock forest knolls. To west is shrub/alder wetland; also to east.;This is late season; therefore components of grass and sedge may be the same but not earlier identifiable. Rain 2 days ago. Standing water still in most of plot, with tree root hummocks. Plot revisit on 6/7/05 by Brian Streets: Open, sunny, rich woodland swamp with dense herbaceous cover. Dominant vegetation: Fraxinus nigra - Abies balsamea / Carex leptalea - Carex gynandra - Caltha palustris - Polemonium vanbruntiae - Veratrum viride - Carex prasina.

This plot is another of the South Fork Abes Run set, with a variation in its overstory composition. Compare with the earlier wet Abes Run site (AB030?). May be similar.
