A large beaver pond is located 400 yards south. Some deer trails bisect the community, which is a uniform dense stand of Carex utriculata / Sphagnum with some standing water.
Representativeness ? This is a large stand that well represents other similar Carex utriculata clones in Canaan Valley. It is probably larger than many stands.
