The plot is located ca 160 m east of 2 waste treatment ponds. Roughly 400 m west of this community is a large Calamagrostis canadensis - Carex stricta floodplain, 50 m to the south is an Abies / Alder woodland, East of this plot between the ponds and this community is a thin band of Spiraea alba, and 30 m north is an Alder thicket with only a few Abies.;Mid-successional dwarf shrubland. The area was historically logged and cleared for agriculture. There are a few pasture grasses growing in the community. A sign that the area was grazed by cattle. The area is within the state park so the major threat to plant communities is deer herbivory.
Representativeness
Small patch of low growing Hypericum densiflorum. This is a typical example of this community type.
