High - elevation plateau near town of Davis with lots of road noise in distance. Surrounding vegetation includes early successional forests and shrublands.;Pottsville conglomerate outcrop on high elevation, plateau like summit. Vegetation consists of shrub sized coppiced sweet birch widely scattered, with patches of ericad shrubs, moist depressions with bryophytes, lichen covered rock pavement, and lichen free rock. Lichen free rock may be due to recent exposure by burning and erosion after logging boom or other environmental factors. Much less Lassalia cover compared to site sampled last week at Otter Creek.
Representativeness
Large sandstone glade on forested bedrock with numerous crevices. Similar features are scattered around the edges of the plateau like top of Canaan Mountain.
