Pringle Run below the plot is severely damaged with Acid Mine Drainage. A current road cuts between the creek and the plot. Mines are both upstream from the plot and above the plot on the top of the mountain. Logging skid roads dissect the slopes, and the forest has been previously logged.;Steep north-facing slope with large boulders (4m length) and rock outcropping supporting mixed hardwood forest. Canopy dominated by Acer saccharum, Ulmus rubra, and Tilia; shrub layer dominated by Lindera benzoin, and herbaceous layer of Laportea canadensis and Caulophyllum thalictroides.
