The plot is located just above a strip mined area.;The T2 layer is rather short. The dominant species are Quercus alba, Acer sacchrum, and Acer rubrum. The T3 layer is very small and hard to distinguish from the T2. The shrub layers are rather dense. The dominant shrub species are; Smilax rotundifolia, Sassafrass albidum, and Lindera benzoin. The herbaceous layer is sparse. The dominant species being; Diphasiastrum digitatum, Dryopteris intermedia, and Polystichum acrosticoides.

This plot is representative of the forest regeneration above many of the stip mined areas within the Pringle Tract.
