Apparently heavily logged in the past. Young, mid-successional species are prevalent in the area.;A southerly-exposed slope draining to an unnamed tributary of the Cheat River Narrows. A thin organic soil supports a canopy of red oak and beech, and a subcanopy of sugar maple, American basswood, and Carpinus caroliniana. A large vitus spp. vine slumps through the understory. A diverse herbaceous layer contains Hydrophyllum, Viola, and Galium species. Bare soil indicate water flow. The seepy slope is dissected by ephemeral streams.
