About 50 m NW is a gas well and gravel road. About 100 m N is GARI.104.;Stand of Quercus, Betula lenta, Acer rubrum, Tsuga canadensis in overstory with Rhododendron maximum in the understory. The forest is on a sideslope with few forbs in the herbaceous layer. The canopy is fairly dense and the forest is shady and cool. Trucks on a logging job (presumably) can be heard, but seem to be a mile or more away.
Representativeness
Plot placed to sample ELU 2110, 1110. There is more cover of RHMA and KALA than in GARI.104. Large patch of Deciduous forest/Rhododendron maximum. Similar to copperhead plot only here there are no large boulders and there is a high cover of Mt. Laurel.
