See plots GARI.126, 127 and 128.;Frequently flooded Betula nigra woodland. The community is located at the upstream end of a river island. In a highwater flow channel that feeds a backchannel pond. All the trees and shrubs are bent W towards the pond. There are lush vegetated highs in the plot and standing water in the cobbley lows. Thin sandy soils on large river cobble.

Small patch woodland growing at the upstream end of a backchannel overflow. Plot was placed to note the difference between this woodland and the adjacent. Pinus woodland similar to woodland sampled near Swiss last season. (GARI.127)
