Ridge line above the Meadow/Gauley confluence. Downslope JV and BPS had several plots from last season. To the southwest about 100 meters is a thin patch of QUPR-TSCA/RHMA-RHCA. To Northwest of here is plot GARI.137. (QUPR-TSCA/RHMA) no purple rhodo seem confined to rocky point. Our next plot will be in a deciduous forest type GARI.139.;Oak/heath forest growing on hot southerly aspect. Low species diversity. The soils are very thin with abundant exposed sandstone.
Representativeness
Medium sized-patch of xeric oak/heath forest. Patch is confined to S facing shoulder slope. Typical example of this community.
