To the north ca. 150 m is a sub-xeric oak forest. Downslope ca. 200 m the forest is basswood-hemlock/rhododendron. U.S. Rt. 19 is located ca. 0.25 miles E and can be heard from the plot.;Cool shady forest dominated by sugar maple-basswood-tulip poplar. The plot is located at the head of an E facing cove. There are few forbs or S2 shrubs indicating heavy deer browse. A few old barkless stumps are scattered throughout the slope.
