Across Peter's creek and downstream this community continues. The gorge slope to the N and S are mixed deciduous Hemlock/Rhododendron. There is a railroad located 50 m S above the plot.;Flood scoured bedrock shelves. Open and sunny. There are few trees or shrubs in the plot although it is partially overhung by Tsuga canadensis and Acer rubrum. The only soil is sand deposited in the cracks in the bedrock. This is where the vegetation occurs which is dominated by Packera paupercula. There is lots of flotsam deposited along the lower end of the plot
