Landscape Narrative ? Rolling plateau with few roads to gorge. Recent logging between here and COE campground above dam.;Seepy draw on the plateau above Gauley Gorge. Forest dominated by tall tulip poplar and white oak with a small gap created by windfall. Herb cover is higher in the gaps and includes a few wetland indicator spp. Large areas of saturated leaf litter in shade has little veg. cover.
Representativeness ? Extremely rare for Gauley NRA ELU 2131 (wet flat). Plot covers most of a linear headwater seep. Plot is confined to wetter center of the draw with most trees rooted along the edges.
