Below the plot 50 m is a driveable R. R. grade. Upslope this community continues for 50 m then hits a cliff. Across the R. R. grade below is a high gradient section of river. So there is likely a flat rock community similar to GARI.47. See veg plots GARI.47 & 48 for more context.;Rich mixed-mesophytic forest growing on loose colluvial rock field. Dense, lush herb layer dominated by Laportea canadensis. Cool shady forest. Highly diverse community on lower gorge slope. Little if any disturbance by people. Lots of deer sign throughout community.
