Just upstream in this community/ land position are primitive campsites and whitewater put-ins. Lower part of this ELU has a small back-channel and then riverside birch woodland (sampled by GARI.67);Upper alluvial terraced slope bottom with sandy soils and swale and hump topography. Community is a forest of tall red oaks with hemlock, beech and others over a moderatly dense thicket of giant rhododendron. Very low diversity and cover by herbs. This is an alluvial landform, but probably rarely floods- plot elevation slightly lower than RR tracks across river.

Represents upper part of ELU (GARI.67 is lower), 33 (Slope bottom). This end of ELU has no campsites and has bigger trees, possilby due to different land ownership. Similar to Red Oak-hemlock floodplains along Shaver's fork.
