1. Kalmia - Gaylassacia shrublands 2. Spruce woodlands and open forest;Sandstone outcrop along the eastern continental divide, as pictured by Porte Crayon. Outcrop may include bedrock, but is mostly weathered to stacks of boulders, avg. 1-5 m long and which are dissected by narrow crevices. There are a few shrubs, and herbs, and mosses in cracks and gravel accumulations. Rocks are covered by umbllicate and crustose lichens.
