Water gap with high cliffs above talus slopes and boulderfield forests with a high gradient stream at the bottom. There is a high contrast in vegetation on the north and south aspects of the gap. North aspects and creek bottom have dominance by Tsuga canadensis, but this species is dying off due to infestation by the wooly adelgid. Cliff tops support woodlands of pitch pine.;Water Gap.
