TNC preserve. Upslope boulderfield continues 100m then cliffs. Boulderfields to west support open forest with Tilia, tons of Virginia creeper. Hemlocks on this south aspect are still alive.;Boulderfield slope with SW aspect with large openings separated by tree islands. Sandstone boulders average 1-3 m long. Coarse substrates provides numerous openings to subterranean habitat. Boulder tops are dominated by a green foliose lichen, intermixed with smaller Dimalaena cf. Lasallia pensylvanica is patchy on steeper boulder faces. Different lichens and mosses grow in dark depths.
