Remote mountain top near state line. Popular hiking trail runs through stand. Very top of Tibbet has a small Pinus - regida - P. pugens / Kalmia patch.;Ridge shoulder with shallow soil on sandstone bedrock. Community is an open woodland with many dead snags from some disturbance event, possibly gypsy moth and/or drought or ice damage. Canopy would have been more closed, and had higher oak componet. Secondary infection of "honey mushroom" rhizoids under dead oak bark.

Open physiognomy on ridge shoulder with graminoid understory. Community continues across trail with more northerly aspect.
