On NW gentle slope is a young successional forest with tulip poplar and red oak. Opposite ravine slope from plot is dryer or with less fertile soil, thus having fewer herbs. Microstegium vimineum dominant in ravine bottom.;Northeast facing slope of small ravine which bisects a gentle NW aspect lower flank of Halfmoon Mountain. Oak - hickory forest with a relative abundance of herbs including some rich site indicators. Mapped as limestone on geology map.
Representativeness
Most of small patch along side of gully, left standing after last logging cycle (riparian buffer?). May be continued upslope or in another gully.
