See plots HAFE.29,30,31;Canopy is dominated by Quercus muhlenbergii and Fraxinus americana with Quercus velutina. Tall shrub layer dominated by Lindera benzoin and with a definite browse line. High herb cover dominated by Sanicula odorata, with Elymus hystrix senescent. No Ageratina altissima seen in this plot. There is more litter accumulation in this plot than last, possibly due to extra oaks. These last 2 differences may be a result of older successional status. Herb cover and dominance by Ageratina goes up in younger stands.
