Across channel are "islands" with short woodlands of battered Platanus (see Gary Rouse plot from 1999). Across railroad tracks is oak-hickory matrix forest (see plot HAFE.38).;Sparsely vegetated sloping bedrock ledges with a few scattered 2 meter tall Ulmus rubra with Andropogon gerardii growing in cracks and Paronychia virginica clinging in even smaller cracks. Stand is likely flooded yearly by high energy flows. Top of plot is about 4 meters above the water level at sampling date.
Representativeness
Sloping bedrock ledges between railroad and river at Bull Falls. Plot is entire community stand. Chris Lea classified this a riverscour prairie, but it's really just a rock with little community development. Site of Paronychia virginica occurrence.
