Landscape Narrative ? Upland forest on boulders is hemlock-sweet birch. Other patches are successional tulip tree. Matrix forest is sterile red oak, some really big. Occurrence of rare plant, Carex seorsa, continues about 100m upstream along seepy drain bottom, but is missing from wetland opening at top, near campsite.;Small herbaceous wetland impounded behind a natural nick point created by boulder pile ("rock river") where drainage breaks downhill. Small stream flows through wetland and drains into the boulder pile, but at higher water would flow into adjacent steam channel. There are numerous deadfall in wetland. Which fell from adjacent upland forest. Wetland is partly shaded by overhanging canopy, but has a sunny center at noon.
