To the NE just outside the plot is a small aquatic bed with Hydrocotyle ranunculoides. A spring rises directly west of plot, feeding small tributary with Hydrocotyle ranunculoides. Wetter area outside plot toward RR tracks has Leersia oryzoides - Saggitaria latifolia patch and cattails roughly 200 sq m.;Open sunny graminoid marsh with wooly sedge. There are a couple of river birch trees in the S1 layer. The site is somewhat degraded with meadow fescue invading from the upland and cattails invading along the tracks.
Representativeness
Small patch of a Carex pellita dominated wet meadow. Similar to stands sampled at Altona Marsh only here it lacks high cover of Eupatorium maculatum. Plot was placed to sample open graminoid marsh. May be drier here.
