Downslope is open rock river (JEFF.45). Upslope on soil is tuliptree.;Rocky headwater drainage near the top of the Blue Ridge. Most of the bouldery terrain is forested with composition reflecting depth of colluvium. This plot is pretty rocky, with dominance by basswood and ash. Paw-paw and witch hazel dominated the shrub layer. Rocks have high cover by bryophytes and lichens. There is abundant downfall, typical throughout area. Surface water flow evidenced by light flotsom.
