Draws on this flank are dominated by tuliptree. Downslope grades to extensive oak / heath forest, both with mt. laurel and Rhododendron. Upslope forests are red oak / witch hazel. Well drained convex positions support a forest dominated by red oak mixed with other hardwoods, indicating some soil enrichment compared to other oak / heath forests in vicinity. Moosewood is abundant in shrub layer. Herbs are moderately diverse. Many herbs are small in size (e.g. Polystichum, Ageratina), probably due to repeated deer browse.
