USFS ownership from valley bottom to top, provides access to Appalachian Trail. Forests are mostly dry - mesic with lots of Red Oak. Agricultural valley below.;Bouldery, colluvial slope with areas of soil on NW aspect flank of Peters Mountain. Forest has large snags and some remaining large Oaks, with majority of medium size Oaks and Sweet Birch, and smaller Sugar Maple. Canopy somewhat thinned by insect herbivory, but not as much as further upslope. Lots of down wood.
