Below cliff is loose shale slope with weedy elm, tuliptree forest. Above cliff is oak w/ some pine, juniper. Service area and Interstate are across creek.;Cliff above outside bend of Paint Creek. Cliff features on NE habitat map are abundant in this vicinity but most are forested, rocky slopes. This is on of largest actual cliffs seen today. Massive sandstone caps erodable shale, with vertical bedrock of both exposed. There is no canopy gap. Tall trees below cliff, are as high as stunted trees above. Cliff includes dry overhangs, exposed rock face, seepy shale.
