Adjacent to plot KUMB.8 sampled by Mark Hall in 2002. Marks plot is a bit of a hodgepodge but is seepy and not as uniform or as wet as this plot. Upland forest are mostly northern hardwoods with scattered hemlock and spruce.;Floodplain influenced by past beaver damming. Plot is allocated on a long narrow seeping channel behind a levee and old beaver dam. There is a small streamlet meandering through the bottom. It is difficult to discern between hydrological and beaver-created landforms here. Community in this swale bottom is dominated by mostly unbranched stems of Spiraea tomentosa.

Plot is most of small patch community dominated by Spiraea tomentosa which occurs in the bottom of small backchannel pond/beaver pond.
