The knob above the plot has lots of fire signs, most of the trees and snags are fire scarred. Below the cliff the forest has mixed oak dominance and also appears to have burned. The rock must have shielded this small patch of QUPR from the fire. Laurel Lake is located ~.3 miles north. Lick branch is located ~.2 miles south. The WMA boundary is 30m north of plot near ridgetop.;Twisted overstory of rock oak growing in and along a 10m tall acidic sandstone cliff break. The plot is located on a south facing shoulder slope. The plot is centered between two cliffs in the "bowl" where the water flows between the rocks. The center of the plot has thick leaf litter and the edges are exposed boulders and vertical cliff face.
