NW-facing hillslope, no outcrops. Oaks further upslope.;much laurel and scrub oak dead below head height. Understory depauperate. Very deer-browsed. Little regeneration of anything.

old basal scars on pitch pines, uphill side and likely fire. Big ridge trail downslope. No charcoal on coarse woody debris or snags, but yes in soil, and T2 pitch pines have basal scars.
