Areas with heavy cattle traffic have exotic pasture grasses and shrubs. Tate-Lohr WMA has been undisturbed since the farm was abandoned and is incredibly weed free.;Lower west flank of East River Mountain with exposed limestone outcrops. Community is young forest on land previously cleared for pasture. Area is still lightly grazed but impacts are less apparent in rocky areas. Shrub layer is sparse but includes some browsed native barberry.
Representativeness
Small patch of young chinquapin - juniper forest on limestone outcrop. Sampled in part to compare to similar plots on adjacent state land which is not grazed.
