See plot MINE.4 and all other plots from this day. The community west ot this is more of a sub-xeric oak forest dominated by red oak/red maple. It is also young and has been frequently logged.;Plot is located on a small nose or ridge spur. A dry forest community dominated by Quercus prinus / Kalmia latifolia. Forest looks somewhat young. Many of the oak trees appear to be stump sprouts. There is an old skidder trail which dissects this community. Lots of downed wood and a few sawn stumps were observed in the stand. The forest here is probably 3rd or 4th growth like plot MINE.4. Only this community has a lower site index.
Representativeness
Small patch of xeric oak / heath forest. Smilar to patches surveyed at Briery Mountain WMA and Snake Hill WMA. This site is more fragmented than the other two.
